A Day of Magic and Memories at Tokyo Disneyland!
This type of immersion trip teaches all of us about being flexible and adaptable and today’s lesson and challenges proved to be a blessing to our students; fixing the problems quickly and without fuss saw our magical adventure at Tokyo Disney Resort take on a new location of Disneyland.
Laughter and excitement filled the air as students formed tight-knit friendship groups, ready to conquer the enchanting realm of Disney.

Our first stop was Space Mountain, a thrilling journey through the cosmos that left us breathless and eager for more. Thundering through turns, we felt the rush of adrenaline and the exhilaration of being in space.
Students then took on all the various rides; Pirates of the Caribbean, where we set sail with intricate details and lifelike animatronics transported us to a world of treasure and treachery.
Haunted Mansion offered a spine-tingling experience as we glided through eerie as we corridors and met the ghostly inhabitants of the mansion. The clever blend of spooky storytelling and cutting-edge effects left us in awe.
The whimsical “it’s a small world” ride provided a welcome contrast, immersing us in a kaleidoscope of cultures and melodies. The charming dolls and vibrant sets reminded us of the beauty in diversity. The theme song of this ride also plays during the closing night parade.
No trip to Disneyland is complete without a visit to Splash Mountain, where we braved the thrilling plunge down the flume, soaking up the sun and the fun… and some water 💦
Our leaders joined in on the fun, sharing in the students excitement and providing valuable insights about the park’s hidden gems and what rides were the most fun, thrilling or ones to just chill at!
Between rides, we savored delightful Japanese takes on popcorn flavors like white chocolate and Matcha. Pumpkin milkshakes and smoked turkey legs, the Little Green Men mochi cakes and Micky Mouse waffles!

We had the students meet the leaders for checkins and also gave them their second round of funds so they could choose something they wanted to try and didn’t forget to eat!
As dusk fell, we staked out some prime viewing space for the Electric Light Parade; it illuminated the whole park with a dazzling display of colors and music, leaving us mesmerized by the synchronized spectacle. But all rallied for one last ride before the park closed; some running to line up for Space Mountain and others to Thunder Mountain…. With the leaders in tow!

Many students stated that the Electric Light Parade was the best! It went for over 30 mins and showcased many Disney favorites.
Exhausted but elated, we returned to our beautiful and convenient hotel, hearts full of unforgettable memories (and some interesting souvenirs that’ll need to be pushed into bags).
Tomorrow promises more adventures as we delve into the heart of central Tokyo, eager to explore the vibrant city. Just two more sleeps and we’ll be back with you!

Wow, what an exciting day Chloe! I know you have been looking forward to this part of the trip and looks like it was just as amazing as you had hope it would be! It was wonderful you had the opportunity to change to Disneyland at the last moment so you could take in the show and fireworks. Now you have another reason to return to Japan (among many others) to go back and experience DisneySea :). Cant wait to hear about everything in a couple of days. Love you, Mum and Dad.

Dear Jemimah, we read of your adventures everyday. Disneyland makes us ALL want to be there enjoying it with you. I hope you found your hoodie and had enough money left to buy one. We are looking forward to having you come home, a few changes to the house awaits you. Everyone asks how you are going. Grandma is following your trip and said she is very pleased you had good weather for Fuji san, it was cold wet and rainy when she went there. Remember a few deep breaths as you get the plane, we’ll see you soon. Love, all of us .
