A Day of Discovery: Himeji Castle & Beyond
Embarking on a captivating day trip from Kyoto to Himeji Castle, where history meets modern life. We explored the iconic castle, relaxed in gardens, enjoyed a picnic, and had a diverse selection for dinner, all topped by…., Shopping! Aeon Mall is air conditioned which was a bonus.
Himeji Castle:
Exploring the UNESCO-listed Himeji Castle, an architectural marvel echoing Japan’s past. Climbing its storied stairs for panoramic views that made the journey worthwhile. Through the high humidity and strong sunshine all students undertook the challenge. So proud of them! And all of them said it was worth the many steep stairs and narrow doorways to get the view from the top and the fresh breeze! A few commented on all the little details of design and artwork.
Retail Therapy at Aeon Mall:
After dinner. The team leaders followed our students around for some shopping therapy at Aeon Mall, a modern hub for various interests, from fashion to electronics but also a game centre with gacha!
Debrief and Connection:
The day concluded with a debrief meeting, sharing their experiences and their challenges and triumphs with their leaders.
This Kyoto-to-Himeji day trip encapsulates history, nature, culture, and relaxation. It’s a journey that promises cherished memories and a well-rounded adventure.
Tomorrow is a special day with some special activities, stay tuned and Oyasuminasai.
