Day 10 – Sunday 24 September

The crest/ symbol for Minokamo

A day of rest. The staff from the sister school told Mrs S that various host families had planned activities for our students. A few will have BBQ parties; not like our Australian ones, food style is unique; a few were going to Washi Paper Art museum and some to shopping. Others will visit extend family and grandparents; but students will have their own adventures with their caring families.

Can’t wait to share their experiences with you tomorrow.

Thank you parents for not calling your child while in homestay, it helps build trust and respect with the host families and also instills confidence in your child and allows them to develop grit.

Thanking you for your prayers.

  1. Hi Caiti, I haven’t posted in a couple of days as I have been having trouble commenting on the blog. But don’t worry, we have still be reading about all the exciting thing you have been doing. We are really looking forward to hearing about your home stay. Dad made a point of reading your hand written note to Charli. 🐕‍🦺 We look forward to seeing more photos. Don’t forget, Wednesday is Cooper’s 16th birthday, if you get the chance, please send a message for him (even if only via return comment). Love you lots!! Love mum and dad. 💕

    1. Hey!
I already asked my host family if I can call you guys on the 27th, probably at around 7 (6 for you). I have been petting their dog Ruku (pronounced Luku) and their hamster Daisy.
Make sure to take a photo of what Cooper gets.
      Bye!

  2. Hi!!!
Today is our first day at Minokamo Highschool and let me say that everyone here is so lovely! I constantly have people coming up to me and saying ‘You look so cute!!’ It’s honestly so sweet. Todays lessons were English and Japanese, we’re about to do Kendo and a tea thingy. But yeah, awesome time!

Tell Travis and Baby that I love and miss them and I can’t wait to come home. Please also send the Familia meu amor ❤

    1. Thank you for your kind support, I don’t believe they have tried any of the twistiest yet however they love the jam, marmalade and Tim Tams.
I look forward to sharing the stories I have accrued during this trip, Adley.

  4. Hi my Love,

Just wanted to say how proud we are of you and we are very grateful for the opportunity you are having.
Have fun at school tomorrow, savor the experience of this amazing culture, learn something new and exciting to share with us when you get home.
Your family in Brazil is following your journey as well, they all send their love.

Love always, Mum, Dad, Nick, Travis & Baby.

Ps. Travis won’t leave me alone, I guess he had to settle for second best since his favorite person is not here. Be ready for a very clingy bird when you get home ☺️
