Precision train timings: a thing of beauty

The morning rush in Tokyo is a sight to see and can be a little overwhelming to experience. But the amazing Japanese perfectionism and technology makes it all run very smoothly.  Watch the little movie below that shows the flow of trains on Yamanote Loop Line and three intersecting Japan Rail lines (JR says that an average of 3.72 million people use the Yamanote Line daily), there are over a dozen other lines working at the same time; the subway and private train lines that are not shown here. It starts early in the morning around 4:30am watch what happens around 8:15am, most people start work at 9:00am….
