What an amazing experience the children have had. We will be forever grateful to the teachers and students of both Minokamo school and Genesis Christian College for the chance for Abbie to do this. Thank you Minokamo staff and students for looking after them so well and for all the wonderful things they have done this week. We are looking forward to hearing all the stories first hand when they arrive back home on Saturday.

Back home we had a “typical’ (haha) Aussie occurrence of a kangaroo (ok a wallaby) in our backyard today! Wasn’t something I expected in suburbia! She got stuck in our backyard and once we managed to help her out I noticed her little baby joey was left behind :(. A quick trip to the vet, who arranged a wildlife carer, so crossing fingers it makes it. It’s so young, still with eyes closed and no fur. The carer is keeping me updated and they said it weighs just 130gms!

We can not thank the teachers and staff at Minokamo for there thoughtfulness and love for our children. With every post we watch, we can see the enjoyment and happiness in our children’s eyes. You have given them adventures and let them see a new world far from anything we could have ever imagined. They will treasure memories that they will never forget. I for one, feel this will be a life changing moment in our sons life.
We would also like to thank the students from Minokamo. As we can see, they have welcomed our students with open arms, friendship and warmth. With out there support and comradeship, I know our children would not have blossomed as they have. We can not thank you all enough.

Thank you so much to the friends and families of Minokamo for your love and kindness you have shown to our children. It’s been wonderful watching your daily experiences and something the children can cherish forever. Remembering the tears when Minokamo children left Genesis this year left me emotional this morning watching your link. We are so greatful to Mrs Shimizu and Genesis for organising such a fun filled and comprehensive trip. Have fun in your last week in Japan and stay safe.
